On 29-30 June 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Job of Pisidia accompanied His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Sofia (Bulgaria) for the enthronement of the new Patriarch of the Church of Bulgaria.
On 30 June, the Ecumenical Patriarch and his delegation attended the Divine Liturgy in the church of Saint Nedelya (Kyriaki) and served a memorial service on the tomb of the late Patriarch Neophytos.
In the afternoon, His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel of Vidin was elected Metropolitan of Sofia and Patriarch of Bulgaria. His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, accompanied with his delegation, took part in the enthronement ceremony at the patriarchal cathedral Saint Alexander Nevsky and congratulated the new elected Patriarch Daniel on behalf of the Mother Church.
