His Eminence Metropolitan Job of Pisidia, born Ihor Getcha, was born in Montreal (Canada) on 31 January 1974. After completing High School in Montreal, he studied at Saint Andrew’s College in Winnipeg and at the University of Manitoba (Canada), Saint Sergius’ Orthodox Theological Institute in Paris, the Catholic University of Paris and the University of Lorraine (France). He holds a doctorate and a habilitation in theology. He speaks English, French, Greek, Italian, Russian and Ukrainian.
He was ordained deacon in 1996, priest in 2003 and Archbishop of Telmessos in 2013. In 2022 he was promoted Metropolitan of Pisidia.
He taught in various Universities and still currently teaches at the Catholic University of Paris. He serves as the Co-president of the Joint International Commission for the Theological Dialogue between the Roman-Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church. He is a member of the Commission on Faith and Order of the World Council of Churches.
As a renowned scholar, he is the author of numerous books and articles on Orthodox Liturgy and Spirituality.
