Saint George’s of the Mountain in Alanya
The church of Saint George is located in the mountains above the city of Alanya (Tepe Mahalessi district). It was built presumably in the 8th century on the site of the appearance of George the Victorious. Since the 13th century, a monastery has been located near it. The present building was built in 1873. It has been functioning since the spring of 2013 with the authorization of the Turkish authorities.
